How to set up a Yealink DECT device

This page explains how to set up your Yealink DECT device. There are two possible ways to do this: straightforward via our provisioning in Freedom or manually.

Automatic set up via Freedom (provisioning).

Automatically setting up a Yealink W52P is easy to do through Freedom.

Freedom

  • Login to Freedom.
  • Find Admin in the menu bar and then click on VoIP-account.
  • Click the three dots after the VoIP-account you want to use and then click on Provisioning.
  • In the provisioning menu select the Yealink W52P as your device.
  • Fill in the MAC address from your device; this number is located on the sticker found under your device’s base station.
  • Select on which Extension you want to configure this VoIP account. Normally this is only ‘line one’. (If you want to configure more VoIP accounts to this base station, you can read below how to do that.)
  • Click on Configure.

Discovering the device’s IP-address

  • Go to the telephone’s menu. You can do this by clicking the OK button.
  • Select Status and then System status.
  • Enter the IP-address from the device in a web browser (on a computer that is connected to the same network). Log on with the username ‘admin’ and the password ‘admin’.

Auto provisioning

  • Go to the Settings tab and click on Auto provisioning.
  • Paste the following link into the field next to Provisioning server: http://freedom.voys.de/provisioning/config/
  • Clear the User Name and Password fields.
  • Click on Confirm and then click Auto Provision now.

The device will update itself and the information from your VoIP-account will be placed in your base station.

Setting up multiple VoIP-accounts via Freedom on the same base station

To set up more VoIP-accounts on the same base station via Freedom follow the above instructions for each VoIP account. The only change is for the second VoIP-account you select ‘ext 2’ and ‘line 2’, for the third VoIP-account you select ‘ext 3’ and ‘line 3’ etc.

Manual configuration

For manual configurations, it is important to copy the data exactly as it is shown in the examples. It is assumed that the base station is correctly plugged in and the handsets are properly connected.

Entering account information

  • Go to the Account tab.
  • Fill in your internal number under Label and Display name; for example 201 or 202.
  • By Register name and User name fill in the Account ID from your VoIP-account. You can find this by going to Freedom. Click on Admin and then on VoIP-account. After VoIP-account you will see your account ID.
  • In the Password field, enter the password from your VoIP account. In Freedom, click on admin and then on VoIP account. On the right side under filters, change Show passwords to Yes and then click Apply. An extra column containing the password will be displayed.
  • Copy the settings from the screenshot shown below.

If you want to add more accounts, where Account 1 now stands, you can select another account and repeat the above steps. Make sure you set Account active to Enabled.

Handset name

Go to the Account tab and click on Handset name.
Here you can see an overview of the handset names; you can change these as you wish.

Assigning numbers

Go to the Account tab and click Number assignment.
Here you can see a table where you can indicate which accounts and handsets should be connected. You can set this up for incoming as well as outgoing calls.
