When you aren’t available, callers can leave you a voicemail message. This recorded message is sent as an audio file to your email address, or to multiple email addresses at the same time. The maximum length for a recorded message is 2 minutes and 15 seconds. You can easily listen to the voicemail message on your computer, tablet, or smartphone by clicking on the audio file found in the email attachment. This module is free.

  • Log into Freedom.
  • Click on Admin in the menu bar.
  • Select Voicemail.
  • Click on Add.
  • Voicemail box number: Choose a number, for example, 501, so you can recognize its the voicemail.
  • Description: Add a description for the voicemail, for example, “Bob Smith’s voicemail”
  • Email addresses: Here you can fill in one or more email addresses where the recorded voicemail messages should be sent to. Multiple email addresses must be separated with a comma.
  • Welcoming message type: Here you can choose which message callers hear before they record their message. Select None to just have a beep play. Choose Standard to have one of the standard recordings play, which are available in multiple languages and can be found in Message settings. Choose Custom to upload or record your own audio file. This is possible with for example a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a built-in or connected microphone. At the bottom of this page are a few example messages. You can also choose to let us record a message for you. Attention: The audio files must be smaller than 5MB. The following formats can be uploaded into Freedom: .wav, .mp3 and .gsm.
  • Send email when no voicemail message was left. By switching this on, you receive an email when someone reaches your voicemail but doesn’t leave a message.
  • Click on Save.
  • Go to your Dial plan and add the created voicemail as your last step.
